BaZi Day Master guide
Bing Fire Day Master: The Sun
Yang Fire · 丙 · one of the ten Day Masters
If your Day Master is Bing (丙), you are Yang Fire, pictured as the sun. The sun does not choose whom it shines on; it lights up everything in its path. Bing Fire people tend to be warm, generous, expressive and highly visible.
You bring energy into a room and tend to be honest to the point of bluntness. You like to share what you have, whether that is ideas, time or enthusiasm. Like the sun, your challenge is pacing. You burn bright and can forget that other people need shade sometimes, and so do you.

What the classics say
丙火猛烈，欺霜侮雪。能煅庚金，逢辛反怯。
“Bing Fire is fierce: it defies frost and scorns snow. It can forge Geng Metal, yet meeting Xin, it turns timid.”
The sun melts frost, so Bing Fire is at its boldest under pressure and can forge hard Metal: it takes on tough challenges and difficult people. But Bing combines with Xin, the jewel, and in that embrace its fire softens. In practice, you are hard to intimidate, yet beauty, charm and comfort can pull you away from your purpose.

Strong vs. weak Bing Fire
No Day Master is good or bad on its own. What matters is how strong it is in your chart, which depends on your birth season and the other seven characters. The same stem reads very differently in each case.
A strong Bing Fire
A strong Bing Fire (born in summer, or backed by Wood and Fire) is confident and magnetic, with energy to spare. The classic remedy is Water, especially Ren Water, the great river that reflects the sun. In life that means structure, responsibility and challenges worthy of your energy. Earth also helps by giving your warmth something to produce.
A weaker Bing Fire
A weaker Bing Fire (born in winter, or surrounded by Water, Metal or Earth) has plenty of warmth but can doubt itself. Wood is the key support because it feeds the fire: learning, mentors and people who believe in you. Other Fire, meaning friends and allies, also helps you shine.
The season you were born in
BaZi seasons follow the solar calendar, not the calendar month, so the dates below shift by a day or so each year. Your birth season is one of the biggest factors in how your Day Master behaves.
- Spring (roughly Feb 4 to May 5)
- Wood feeds the fire and the sun is rising, so you have natural confidence. The classic pairing is Ren Water, a river reflecting the sun, which gives your energy a worthwhile direction.
- Summer (roughly May 6 to Aug 7)
- The sun is at its strongest. You have abundant energy and may run too hot. Water (calm, structure, rest) is essential, and Metal can support that Water.
- Autumn (roughly Aug 8 to Nov 7)
- The sun sets earlier and you may need more fuel. Wood (learning, mentors, inspiration) keeps you going, and you benefit from people who appreciate you.
- Winter (roughly Nov 8 to Feb 3)
- The sun is weak and the days are short. Wood and Fire both help. Your warmth matters more because it is rare: one Bing Fire in a cold chart can light up a whole family or team.
Career and work style
Bing Fire thrives where it can be visible and make an impact: leading, presenting, performing, teaching, selling or launching something new. You are motivated by purpose and recognition more than by routine, and you do your best work when you believe in the mission.
You may get restless in back-office roles or slow bureaucracies. Pair your energy with people who handle details and follow-through, and you can achieve a great deal. Many Bing Fire people do well as founders, public faces and team leads.
Work that often suits Bing Fire

- Tourism, hospitality and events
- Nonprofit and community work
Bing Fire in love
In love, Bing Fire is passionate, open and generous. You show love loudly, with time, gifts and attention, and you want a partner you can be proud of.
Your challenge is consistency and listening. The sun shines on everyone, so a partner can feel they get the same warmth as everybody else. Make time that is only for them, and choose someone who can enjoy your energy without competing with it.
Traditional BaZi reads partners through two “spouse stars”. For Bing Fire, the Wealth star is Metal, especially Xin Metal (辛), traditionally read as a wife or girlfriend. The Officer star is Water, especially Gui Water (癸), traditionally read as a husband or boyfriend. Many modern readers look at both stars for everyone. Bing Fire also combines with Xin Metal (丙辛合), one of the five classic stem pairings.
Money
Bing Fire tends to earn through visibility: reputation, personality, being known. Metal is your Wealth element, and you work it the way the sun forges metal, through effort and boldness. You can also spend freely. Set limits on lending and impulse buys, and let a detail-minded person review your big decisions.
What helps Bing Fire thrive
- Schedule real rest. Even the sun sets every day.
- Choose a mission that is worth your energy.
- Team up with someone who loves details.
- Ask more questions in conversation than you answer.
